How do I configure New Outlook for Office 365 to connect to my IMAP email?

These instructions assume that the IMAP protocol, rather than POP3, is to be used (POP3 needs different port settings).

To add an IMAP account to New Outlook:

1. Open New Outlook and click on the File tab and select the Account info option.

2. Click the Add account button:

3. Ignore any suggested email accounts and enter your email address:

New outlook should recognise the email address as being associated with an IMAP account.

4. Enter the Password:

• • Enter your e-mail address.
  • Click on Advanced options and tick Let me set up my account manually.
  • Click Connect.

5. Click Show more (to slide the button to the right). Enter the following details:

• • Set the Incoming mail server to:
    • mail.<yourdomain.co.uk> or your allocated server, e.g. krypton.cloudhosting.uk or rubidium.cloudhosting.uk.
    • Port 993.
    • Encryption method SSL/TLS.
  • Set the Outgoing mail server to:
    • mail.<yourdomain.co.uk> or your allocated server, e.g. krypton.cloudhosting.uk or rubidium.cloudhosting.uk.
    • Port 465.
    • Encryption method SSL/TLS.

7. Click Continue.
8. If the entered details are corrected, Outlook will synchronise with the server.
